The xcarlink connects directly to the existing CD Changer port on your Car stereo (as shown in the diagram below) Which in some cars can be reached from the passenger side, on other cars the car stereo will need to be removed. Instructions to remove your car stereo to access the CD changer port can be found through many online resources, car manuals or by a local installer. On most cars the unit can be installed in approx 30 minutes.

3.) NOT COMPATIBLE with the factory MD player, you would have to disconnect your factory mini disc player and replace with the original faceplate for this to work

Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Remove the radio from the dash, if you need instruction on how to do this let us know we will send them to you.
Step 2: After you have removed your factory radio you will need to identify the approprite connector on the bottom of your radio. Just turn your radio over, it will be the only connector ont he bottom of your stereo.
If you have a factory MD player then it will be plugged in here, you will need to disconnect it in order for this to work.
Step 3: After you have identified the factory MD plug from the bottom of your radio you will need to connect the mating plug from the Mazda harness (included, pictured below). This harness has circuit board with a metal connector that plugs into the MD input on the bottom of your stereo. To hold the board in place you will need to attach the brace (included) with the 2 phillips head screws. Without this the board might fall out, this will hold it in place. The screws will go into the factory holes underneath your stereo. Just so you know, you wont have to create holes or anything. MAKE SURE THIS BOARD IS SECURELY PLACED!! There is a gap filler on this board, just make sure the gap filler is filling in the spot between the board and the brace. Do not turn on your radio until this board is securely installed.
